❃  A map of Decatur, showing the Rec Center & its parking lot IN YELLOW - as well as other area parking lots - can be downloaded here:  Parking Map

❃  Metered parking is strictly enforced in Decatur (2-hour parking limit 8AM - 6PM). But the good news is that metered parking is free after 6PM and all day Sundays)

❃  There may be free street parking in the surrounding residential area, but watch out for "Residential Parking Only" signs that limit parking in some areas.

❃  DO NOT PARK in the CVS lot on West Ponce. (They watch where you are going and they will boot you car.)

❃  DO NOT PARK in church p-lots on Sunday.

For those dancers who are flying in for Fandango and plan to use public transportation:  you can take the MARTA subway line from inside Hartsfield Airport all the way to downtown Decatur.  Just take any Northbound train to the Five Points stop, and then switch to the Indian Creek Eastbound train and get off at the Decatur stop.  You will be 1 block from the dance hall!

Decatur is a dining destination, attracting foodies from all across metro Atlanta to more than 80 mostly independent restaurants, cafés and pubs.  The following is just a sampling of restaurants:  Restaurant List

Joanna Reiner Wilkinson has taught English dance for over two decades. In addition to being one of the leaders of the Philadelphia-based Germantown Country Dancers, her calling has taken her from Amherst to Ann Arbor, from NEFFA to Hey Days, from St. Croix to Vancouver, and other points abroad, including many sessions at Pinewoods Camp. Joanna loves teaching workshops for ECD callers, and workshops that explore ECD technique, new dances, and how people learn and remember dance choreography. While known for her clear calling and instruction, Joanna is also an avid dance gypsy, and in her spare time, works to support her dance habit. We welcome her return to Fandango!
